Job Description Job Description MUST HAVE MIXING CHEMO EXPERIENCE AND CERTIFICATION. Qualifications Education and Experience # High School Diploma or equivalent (GED) is required. # Completion of technician training program preferred. # Certified pharmacy technician preferred. # Registered as Registered Pharmacy Technician with State of Maryland within six months of date of hire or transfer into the position. # One – two years working experience as a pharmacy technician in an institutional setting preferred. # Must have mixing chemo experience of at least 6 months and be certified. # Knowledge, Skills and Abilities # Prioritizes work responsibilities and manages multiple demands. # Demonstrates an awareness of self-responsibility and accountability for own professional practice. # Seeks validation of knowledge base, skill level, and decision making as necessary and assertively seeks guidance in areas of question. # Practices effective problem identification and resolution skills as a method of sound decision making. Accepts change as a part of the problem-solving process. # Participates actively in staff development activities for unit and Department of Pharmacy personnel. # Demonstrates self-directed learning and participation in continuing education to meet own professional development needs. # Participates in development and attainment of unit and Department of Pharmacy goals. # Participates in peer review and unit and Department of Pharmacy quality improvement activities. # Practices effective problem identification and resolution skills a s method of sound decision making. Accepts change as a part of the problem-solving process. # Attends hospital and departmental meetings as required or assigned. # Represents the department and the function on hospital committees, professional associations, and community organizations. # Participates in problem solving/decision making and performance improvement. # Utilizes effective methods of communication. # Enhances professional growth and development through participation in educational programs, current literature, workshops, in-service meetings, etc. # Maintains established departmental policies, procedures, objectives, and quality assurance program, safety environmental and infection control. # Assumes the role of Pharmacy Inventory Control technician/Pharmacy Pyxis technician, as needed.
