MANTECH seeks a motivated, career and customer-oriented
Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our vehicle sustainment team in
Hurlburt Field, FL. This role will begin as a temporary assignment with the opportunity to become permanent. The selected candidate will provide maintenance and logistics support to multiple families of vehicles globally on the Allied Logistics Engineering Capabilities Sustainment (ALECS) program.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: - Research, plan, design and develop new applications for electro-mechanical equipment and systems.
- Review contractors' standards, specifications, and documentation to determine mechanical engineering requirements.
- Design, repair, or review gas and diesel engines, as well as mechanical, hydraulic, pneumatic, ventilation, and instrumentation systems, using analytical and investigative methods to ensure systems meet required specifications.
- Gather and correlate data, and perform routine engineering research and development assignments involving calculations and simple tests to develop new applications or upgrade existing hardware.
- Guide and assist technicians in the fabrication and installation of mechanical and related equipment and systems to ensure conformance with engineering designs and customer specifications; use LogMASTRE as required.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications :
- 6+ years of qualified mechanical experience.
- Qualified mechanical experience includes one or more of the following: light or heavy-duty trucks, tractors, tactical vehicles, aviation ground support systems, generators, power plants, aircraft or any diesel or gasoline powered equipment or vehicle.
- Proven maintenance experience with repair and technical experience, background in industrial manufacturing, commercial maintenance or military operations or maintenance.
- Experience with maintenance support to include operations, system troubleshooting, engineering, design, installation, analysis, maintenance and repair of U.S. systems and subsystems to component level.
- Experience with a variety of hand tools, diagnostic tools, power tools, multi-meters; experience applying industry and/or military standard troubleshooting procedures to isolate faulty system components.
- Ability to successfully pass a Pre-Employment Drug Screening; must possess a Valid Driver's License for the location in which the work will be performed, and a High School Diploma or GED.
Clearance Requirements: - Must be a US Citizen and have a current/active Secret clearance.
Preferred Qualifications: - Prior training or experience on Ground Mobility Vehicle 1.1 (GMV 1.1)
- Prior training or experience Non - Standard Commercial Vehicles (NSCV) i.e. Toyota, Polaris.
- Prior training on the MRAP FOV systems & CROWS Weapon Station.
Physical Requirements: - Must be able to balance, bend, carry, crouch, stretch and kneel.
- Must be able to push, pull, and reach.
- Must be able to work in high noise areas.
- Must be able to lift 50lbs and small parts.
- Must be able to work with computers and CRTs, and type on a computer keyboard.
